St Ives Bay comprises a necklace of golden beaches whether you enjoy swimming, fishing, sailing or windsurfing, St Ives Bay has something to offer everybody. This beach is Porthminster beach and shows a Barbara Hepworth sculpture in the foreground. All beaches within this 6 kilometre stretch have excellent water quality complying fully with EEC stringent guidelines. All beaches have lifeguard cover and are generally safe for children. Cleaned regularly, dogs are banned from Easter to October.

St Ives Bay has the prestigious honour of being awarded one of the “Most Beautiful Bays in the World” of which there are only two in England. There is a highly recommended restaurant Porthminster Cafe directly on the beach.The station car park is just above the beach where the single track railway links with Carbis Bay - just three minutes away. There is also a delightful coastal path to Carbis Bay - about 20 minutes with dramatic views of St Ives Bay.
