The New Years Eve celebrations at St Ives have a national reputation for being one of the places to see in the New Year. Fancy dress is not compulsory but most people make an effort and perhaps you may look out of place without fancy dress. The streets of St Ives are closed for traffic at the bottom of Tregenna Hill so there is no vehicle access to the harbour front. The harbour itself is heaving with people and if the tide is out ,then everyone overspills onto the beach. When the bells ring out the fireworks start a dramatic display over the beaches and town of St Ives. A few shots from 2009/2010. Move the mouse to stop/start the slideshow.
