St Ives is a world famous art centre with many galleries and studios including the Tate Gallery and the Barbara Hepworth Museum and has attracted painters, sculptors and potters since the late 19th century gaining inspiration from the magical light and colours of St Ives. A stones throw from the harbour area is a host of narrow cobbled streets and passageways comprising the old part of the town, all interconnecting and offering innumerable opportunities to explore.
St Ives is blessed with a wide range of quality restaurants, some along the sea front with outstanding views of St Ives Bay. This is the famous Sloop Inn which is St Ives most popular pub right on the harbour front and dates back to 1312. You will be spoilt for choice but it is best to book for evening meals, enjoy the local Cornish produce and above all the freshly caught local fish.
